Logan County Harwood Initiative Youth Team

Building a Brighter Future for Logan County Through Civic Engagement

At United Way of Logan County, we believe in the power of community-driven change. That’s why, in conjunction with the Harwood Institute, we are launching an initiative to strengthen our civic culture and address local challenges while celebrating the many positive aspects that make Logan County a great place to live and work.

Through open dialogue and collaborative efforts, we are listening to residents like you to understand your needs, aspirations, and concerns. By fostering meaningful conversations and taking actionable steps based on your feedback, we aim to create a more engaged, connected, and thriving Logan County.

Oakland Square Park Revitalization in Bellefontaine

As part of our efforts, we are focusing on the revitalization of Oakland Square Park in Bellefontaine. A reviewed concept drawing has addressed safety-related items such as lighting, cameras, and new equipment.

Some aspects of this project will require skilled work, and we welcome volunteers with relevant expertise. We are also collaborating with the Whole Health Team, as they have received similar feedback from the community. While this is a small park, it presents a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

To ensure success, this effort needs to be well-organized, with backup opportunities planned in case of strong volunteer turnout.

How You Can Get Involved We are looking for dedicated community volunteers to help drive this initiative forward. Your participation is crucial in shaping the future of our community. Mark your calendars! Our next major volunteer effort is scheduled for August 4th – 9th, 2025. Whether you have ideas to share, skills to offer, or simply want to be part of positive change, we welcome your involvement.
