The count of local workplaces to surpass their giving records reached a high of 17 this year to help United Way of Logan County blow past its $1 million Campaign Goal. The organization celebrated donors and corporate partners Thursday at the LIVE UNITED Awards Breakfast at Green Hills Community in West Liberty. Officials announced that $1,025,300 was pledged by over 166 businesses and more than 2,500 individual donors this year. Logan County remains the smallest community in Ohio to ever have a $1 million campaign for its local United Way, and it's now happened seven years in a row.
The Traveling Trophies, United Way's most prestigious recognition of corporate philanthropic achievement, are awarded to Logan County workplaces with the highest giving per capita. CenterPoint Energy reclaims the Small Business Award for the second time in a row with total company support at $24,140 for just seven locally-based employees. The $3,448 average employee gift was boosted by a 100 percent corporate match and a $3,900 sponsorship toward United Way's Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Marker, Inc. retains the Large Business Traveling Trophy for the fifth year in a row. They did it with employee participation of 80 percent with matching corporate dollars taking pledges to $93,500. NX Automotive Logistics in East Liberty is the overall top-giving workplace for the sixth year in a row, also checking in with a record-level combined associate and corporate gift of $204,175.
Record-level giving was also achieved this year by employees of the following workplaces: Marker, Inc., Center Point Energy, Transportation Research Center, Foster Logistics, Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Schools, Citizen's Federal, TDH Law, Riverside Schools, Daido Metal, Logan County Electric Cooperative, Smith Smith Chamberlain and Montgomery, Edward Jones, Habitat for Humanity, Logan County Chamber of Commerce, NK Parts, and Open Road Renewables.
Money raised is supporting 30 programs of 22 Funded Agencies that serve the health, education, and financial stability of Logan County residents. A complete line-by-line breakdown of allocations and program funding is available by clicking here.
