UNITED WAY OF LOGAN COUNTY IS HIRING! 
We're looking for a NEW, full-time Donor Relations Director.

United Way is the philanthropic hub of Logan County.  Since 1955, generations of local residents and businesses make their charitable impact through United Way.  When you give to United Way, you become a part of a long-standing solution that works to positively influence the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Logan County.  More than just a fundraiser, United Way collaborates with businesses, non-profits, government, and civic organizations to address the growing needs of our community.  

Position Summary
The Donor Relations Director is a public-facing role within the United Way of Logan County that complements the work of the Executive Director, serving as a liaison with individual donors, corporate partners, and funded agencies.  The position is being grant-funded for two years.  The Donor Relations Director will advance the mission of United Way by strengthening existing relationships with donors and building new ones to help Logan County residents and businesses achieve their philanthropic goals.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Executive Director on the planning and execution of individual donor solicitation, small business giving, prospecting of new donors, and select workplace campaigns.
  • Cultivate a portfolio of leadership-level donors (ranging from $1,000- $9,999 of annual giving), to strengthen their connection with United Way resulting in long term financial commitments to the organization with a goal of growth to a major donor level.  This will be accomplished through individual meetings with donors and potential donors to discuss their philanthropic passions and goals. Develop a donor engagement plan for portfolio to assure consistent cultivation throughout the year.
  • Solicit small business sponsorships and donations for United Way events, such as the Online Auction.
  • Develop and promote new fundraising opportunities for United Way, such as the Always United Endowment Fund, other Planned Giving possibilities, special fundraising events, or partnerships.    
  • Regularly thank donors and corporate supporters through activities such as sending thank you cards and emails, making phone calls, and seeking opportunities to recognize our supporters.
  • Help create and disseminate marketing content for increased donor communication. This includes visiting United Way Funded Agencies to take photos, conduct interviews, and write stories to be included in organization’s fundraising materials, newsletters, social media, website, and press releases. 
  • Plan and execute donor appreciation events that inform, engage, and thank existing and potential donors.
  • Represent United Way by attending community meetings and events to build and strengthen relationships. 

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may be added or deleted based on business need.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and / or 2-5 years experience in any of the following:  fundraising, sales, event planning, human resources, community relations, corporate sales, marketing, non-profit, social services.

  • Strong computer skills:  Microsoft and Adobe software, database.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range:  $50,000 to $60,000

PTO
•    3-weeks vacation 
•    11 paid holidays.  Other leaves as defined in the Personnel Policy
•    Retirement:  4% of base salary paid annually to the investment account of your choice

Employee Business Expense/Travel Allowance
Use of United Way vehicle possible to coordinate for all United Way work.  Transportation expenses for travel shall be at the current Federal level of reimbursement where a personal vehicle is being used.  The United Way shall reimburse staff for expenses incurred for lodging and meals while conducting United Way business.

Worker’s Compensation
All employees are covered by Worker’s Compensation against accidental injury or occupational illness incurred while performing their duties for the United Way.  A First Report of Injury form must be completed and turned in as soon as an injury occurs.  ALL injuries must be reported as soon as possible to the Executive Director regardless of the degree of seriousness.  Injuries resulting to the Executive Director must be reported as soon as possible to the President or Vice-President.
