Lunch Buddies
Sometimes, all it takes is one caring adult and a little time to make a big difference.
Lunch Buddies is a school-based mentoring program that pairs local students with adult volunteers for monthly lunch visits filled with conversation, encouragement, and connection.
Volunteers meet once a month during the school day, building a consistent, positive relationship with their student over the course of the school year. These simple visits help students feel supported, seen, and valued.
Lunch Buddies is now available in all five public schools in Logan County, and we are excited to continue growing the program.
How It Works
Volunteers:
- Meet with a student once a month
- Visit during lunch at the student’s school
- Offer friendship, encouragement, and a listening ear
- Complete a background check and orientation before being paired with a student
*United Way pays for your background check
